Compradores of steamers are warned that it is
the duty of themselves and their staff to prevent any goods coming on board their steamers without Customs permit, whether these goods are brought on board by shippers or passengers (other than what Customs recogni se as passengers' baggage), or by members of the deck or engine staff of steamer. Any goods found must be report- ed to the ship's officers immediately.
The penalty which Customs can impose for any breach of this regulation is H.Tls.500, and comprado res will be held liable for any fine which may be imposed by the Customs.
